Ever since the premiere of Campaign 4, new Dungeon Master Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with deep backstory, a colorful mix of heroes, and a gripping narrative showcasing celestial beings, fiends, and malevolent powers increasing in strength within the city.
Warning: Spoilers for Episode 3 of the new season are included.
The Soldiers Table Introduced
The latest chapter concluded with a huge suspense moment and presented the premier party of characters who will branch out from the central cast to undertake their own adventure, distinct from the other two tables.
This warrior group consists of Teor (portrayed by Travis Willingham), the agile character (the talented performer), Tyranny (the cast member), the cleric (Sam), and Kattigan (the actor).
The Reason for Division
Considering a large ensemble, it was obvious from the outset that keeping everyone at one table would be unfeasible.
Hence, the first four episodes of Campaign 4 serve as an Introduction, intertwining the individual narratives before dividing into three smaller tables: Soldiers, Strategists, and Questers.
What Defines the Warrior Group
According to the DM, the warrior group is for adventurers who prefer a typically action-packed battle-oriented story mode where non-violent answers are few and far between.
Initially, figures such as the hesitant healer Wicander might appear mismatched, but the actions of the latest installment demonstrate why these specific adventurers are best suited for the combat party.
Reasons to Leave
For one thing, the team knows exactly where to head next after a intense first encounter with the enemy group.
A former ally of the deceased character—whose demise initiated the campaign’s events—used the foes for his personal gain, invading the hidden lair, attacking the character, and taking all the enchanted items to dispose of.
The antagonist then paid off his debts and ran away to a fortified location in the northern region, north of Dol-Makjar, with Cyd close behind.
Character Drivers
Moreover, each member has a personal reason to exit the urban setting:
- The agile hero, as Thjazi’s partner and trusted friend, desires retribution.
- The knowledgeable figure has experience in Timmony and cautions that it is a nasty environment.
- Tyranny and The healer, having resisted his relatives’ demands to execute Teor and instead saved him, have no safe haven.
- But, their reputation as important members in House Halovar could help the team enter areas they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Moreover, Teor swore a eternal obligation to The savior for his salvation and will now go with him anywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
In addition, all of them are sought by the authorities that control the city for a variety of reasons, making remaining behind dangerous:
- The rogue and The hero are notorious outlaws.
- The warrior and Wicander defied the influential house and the legion of demons they are allied with.
- Teor is wanted dead by House Halovar.
This leaves them little choice but to journey toward the northern region in search of the antagonist.
Future Episodes
Based on the latest episode’s post-show segment, we discover that the Soldiers table will be absent the following episode, leaving the other eight players to assemble the Seekers and Planners parties.
Audiences can expect finding out which characters will be where in Campaign 4’s last Overture episode, released on October 24.
