Nineteen of Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been achieved on hard courts
A comeback Medvedev secured his first championship for nearly 30 months with success over Corentin Moutet in the tournament title decider.
The athlete, a former world number one, has experienced a challenging period, managing just one win at the Grand Slams and experiencing a setback at the American major.
His unpredictability on the tennis tour - and difficulties with his serve in particular - resulted in him exiting of the top ten and ultimately separating with former mentor his previous coach.
Currently training with Thomas Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has gradually advanced in the recent weeks - climaxing in a hard-fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 triumph over opponent Corentin Moutet.
It is Medvedev's initial title since the Rome competition and maiden on a hard court after March of that year.
Victory also indicates Medvedev has secured 21 championships at 21 distinct tournaments.
"For the first time I am participating in a competition with my two daughters together, so to get a title is especially meaningful," stated tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.
"This victory is in tribute of my child her name, because the first title I achieved when my older daughter my daughter was born was for her."
The tennis star, the past champion, had failed in his past six championship matches, comprising in Halle previously this season.
The player's defensive play style and recurring outbursts on the playing surface had prompted some to question if his ability to compete at the elite level was concluded.
However the player has made changes in the past month, striving to approach the net and play positively, reinforced by an improved serve.
The champion recovered from a break down in the initial set against the difficult Frenchman, securing 4 of the last five exchanges to take the lead.
Both players traded break points in the following set before Moutet, bidding for his maiden ATP Tour title, took control to create a final set.
He saved 4 initial break points in a competitive final set before Medvedev secured a break to fifteen to close out the victory.
Suitably, the winner clinched victory with a shot at the net, with the Frenchman incapable to control a return after over two and a half hours.
