Chopper Spins Wildly into Palm Fronds at Popular California Coast

A helicopter hovering above a popular California shoreline suddenly commenced twirling wildly, ultimately dropping height and crashing into a row of palm groves as beachgoers watched.

Videos uploaded online show the aircraft commencing to spiral over the beach then descending near the edge of the shore, where it gets stuck among palm groves and a set of stairs close to the shoreline route.

Rescue Operation Update

Local firefighters said five people were taken to hospital involving two who were in the aircraft and were “safely pulled from the wreckage” following the accident on Saturday.

Three individuals on the street were hurt. Information on their injuries were not immediately available.

What led to the incident was not yet disclosed.
