Authorities mentioned they were contacted by a individual who found a car in Hanau marked with red-colored fluid

Approximately fifty automobiles have been smeared with what seems to be human blood in the German municipality of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, according to police.

Vehicles, building surfaces and postal boxes were defaced, occasionally with Nazi symbols, they stated in a release.

Law enforcement say they were alerted in the late hours on Wednesday, when a resident observed that a car in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been smeared with a red-colored liquid.

The fluid had been drawn in the pattern of a Nazi symbol, they stated.

Law enforcement then located multiple other smeared vehicles and residential walls in the adjacent neighborhood.

Nazi symbols are illegal in Germany under laws outlawing the public exhibition of Nazi-era symbols.

Law enforcement state preliminary tests show the fluid was most likely human bodily fluid.

"There is still no lead as to its origin; investigators are presently not cognizant of any harm in connection with the occurrence," they added.

Municipal representatives announced they were attempting "to resolve the case" and have asked to the community for tips.

An important representative commented the attack rendered him speechless and had to be resolved promptly.

"This incident hits the center of Hanau and revives the wounds of the extremist terrorist attack in 2020," he wrote on a platform, recalling the death of nine victims by a shooter aiming at people of migrant background in five years prior.
